Remember that band you formed in high school where you tried to sound like all the groups you heard on mainstream alternative radio?  Remember how awful it was?  Bingo.

Electric Candy Shop's Symphony on Saturn is a revelation in mediocrity.  When they do muster up the necessary elements of melody and rhythm, they mess it up with overflowing angst and shoddy recording quality.  "Must Have Been," for example, shows melodic promise at first, but throws it all away through whininess and dull, shoddy performance.  They're going to need to rethink their angsty emo/alt rock blend and improve their sound mixing next time around if they ever want to get anywhere with their music.

I don't feel I really have much more to say about this album except to warn you not to buy it.  And I hope I'm not discouraging the band from making any more music, as it's clear that the talent's there - it just needs to be tapped properly.  Better luck next time.
