The Emergency

"How Can You Move?" CD

You Guys on a Label?

Genres: indie pop, indie rock, lo-fi

Feb 28 - Mar 5 2005

Indie pop/rock done right.  How refreshing.  As this album plays on, it becomes more and more evident that The Emergency has clued into something awesome.  This has a rock star infectiousness like that of Cheap Trick, but combines it with a lo-fi abandon more akin to Pavement and Guided By VoicesHow Can You Move? has a few truly inspired moments - the brilliant "Cracked Up" and the sweetly appealing "All Over Town" rank among the best - but the key to the record is its consistent success; every one of these songs has a melody worth listening to over and over again.  For a pop fan just looking to sit back and enjoy the music, The Emergency fits the bill without question.
