Bella supplies us with four inoffensive alternative rock songs with major radio potential but a hard dose of homogeneity. It isn't that these songs aren't catchy, it's just that they're pretty bland. I don't mind listening to the charged, emotional "Vegas" - it's actually a solid, well-produced rocker - but I wouldn't seek it out on my own. Meanwhile, "The Mess" is garnering some measure of mainstream success - but I'm having trouble separating it from a number of the other songs that get airplay on the same stations. The epic-sounding "Hand or Rifle" is probably my favourite song of these four; it has an uplifting chorus that really appeals to me. Overall, this is very competent, well-produced rock that's high on energy but somewhat low on content. Watch out for the Fivespeed name; it's definitely going to be one you'll see around.
