The Luxury Tax / Mad E.P.

Split 7"

Budget Cuts Music

Genres: electronica, IDM, hardcore techno

July 25 - 31 2005

If you're going to name a track "90 lb girlfriend" you better have the chops to back it up.  The Luxury Tax does.  Their side of this split 7" is dark, beat-driven IDM; not much in the way of melody, but the killer predatory rhythms make up for that quite nicely.  Mad EP's "Grenadine (Sleipnir Ridaz Mix)" introduces some samplage into the mix, making for a dark, deep pit of electronica mayhem - it isn't too brutal, but the hardcore tag is not far-fetched.  I like what I hear from these two thus far; both have distinct styles and could be come forces on the scene in a short while.  I'd like to see what else they have up their sleeves.
