As soon as you hear this album's opener, a feedback-drenched cover of Pink Floyd's "One Of These Days," you know you're in for something different. "Experiments In Feedback" finds Porn experimenting with a number of guitar effects. This is especially apparent in the three "Feedback" songs, which are cosmic, moody pieces of spacey guitar. Two of the three actually consist of "conversations" between the guitars, partly as a result of Tim Moss's throat surgery, which deemed him unable to talk for most of the duration of the album's production.

Also interesting are the band's three versions of Motorhead's "I'll Be Your Sister." Apparently, the band recorded three different takes on the track, and, upon being unable to pick just one, decided to put 'em all on the final cut. Suffice to say, the band's ears for experimentalism are by no way tamed for the tracks - they are as avant garde as all heck. In fact, even the band's take on a "two minute pop song" is far from ordinary. Although the riffs and the melody are there, don't expect anything too accessible, 'cause that's not what these fellows are about.

If you enjoy guitar music of the avant garde persuasion, you're sure to enjoy this - I sure did.
