This is a fine indie rock 7" from the interesting Slide The Needle Label. Combining one song each from the female-fronted Rocking Horse Winner and Electro Group bands, this record is a fun, enjoyable split-release.

Side A brings us The Rocking Horse Winner's "Tomorrow," a peppy pop song with an impeccably catchy chorus. It boasts a very accessible sound, and could easily become popular if given the chance. It's a very crisp recording, and almost suffers from being too glossy, treading a bit close to the "popular alternative rock" title. However, it's nice melody and intelligent songwriting make it a fun track that can be enjoyed by mainstreamers and indie fans alike.

Side B, however, hides the secret gem - The Electro Group's "Panzer Treat," which is much more guitar-heavy than The Rocking Horse Winner's effort. Showing off a very impressive indie rock sound, it really comes together well, with the vocals going very pleasantly with the fuzzy guitar chords. The songwriting is also impressive, with catchy melodies characterizing both the verse and the chorus. Altogether, the song has a very fresh sound to it that I, for one, would like to hear more of.

Altogether, this is a very successful collaboration. Though the two bands have very different, individual styles, they do not clash and the variety adds depth to the release. If you're looking for some carefree, rockin' music, you can't go wrong with this.
