Stationary Odyssey and El Boxeo both contribute interesting instrumental rock pieces to this split; to be fair, SO uses a lengthy vocal part from somewhere or other - but all the melody in this comes from the instruments.  Having heard quite a bit from Stationary Odyssey, I can say that this is one of their more unusual pieces; it lays an odd beat under a repetitive instrumental background.  Melodica and toy piano add a certain eeriness to the piece, while a weird instructional tape about medical procedures plays on top.  Strange stuff.  El Boxeo eschews the talking part and instead opts for a violin/bass/drums track that is a little Celtic, but mostly just fun.

This 7" is a tad weird, but those interested in unusual but not inaccessible avant-rock need to check it out.  Only 250 copies made, so be swift!
