Pop music. That's what this is. Pop music at heart. Sure, there are electronic elements to the mix, and at some times Seaholm seems like a bit of a rocker. There's even a country tune. But Upload is a pop album. And there's nothing wrong with that.

On Upload, Seaholm spins off pop tunes as if they were nothing at all. One after another, this album spits out catchy ditties aplenty. Right from the delicious opener, "song," the melodies are alive and kicking. Other hits include the infectious "River Opens Wide" and fun-fun-fun pop/rocker "It's Coming Back", among others. The whole album is very catchy and particularly original, although not lacking influence. Beatles (surprise, surprise), Badly Drawn Boy, and Sparklehorse styles are all heard on this disc, which is clean pop at its finest. Covers of Badfinger's "No Matter What" (country style!) and a Hedwig and the Angry Inch tune are also thrown in for good measure, hinting at Sven-Erik's other musical persuasions.

Overall, this is a very recommended album for fans of pop music. While Seaholm doesn't stick to the common indie pop formula, fans of the genre will not be disappointed with the terrific Upload, which heaps on the pop hooks and never quits.  Could be a sleeper hit.
