Unsacred Hearts play pure, heavily Pixies-influenced indie rock.  They've got the gritty energy down, as well as the heavenly bruised melodies.  "1978" and "I Was Raised To Be Polite & Kind" are pure Surfer Rosa; the band even seems to have a few hooks in common with Black Francis' compositions.  While the melodies aren't as immediately classic as Pixies material, the songs do have a similar appeal.  Most  of these tracks are under two minutes in duration; only two of the seven surpass this mark.  "Stuck Inside a Mobile Home with the Mansion Blues Again" and "We Were a Band" stray a bit from the Pixies formula, instead opting for high-tension dance-punk and looser, melodic 70s-ish punk.  Overall, this EP is a fine offering from Unsacred Hearts; it should fit in well with most punk and indie rock collections.
